About Restart-Ed

Founded in 2010, Restart-Ed has provided a range of professional services to schools and the wider UK and international schools sector, including research and analysis, strategic consultancy, business and product development, coaching and organisation development.

Until 2020, Restart-Ed’s portfolio comprised a mix of short- and long-term engagements with clients looking for quick impact based on an objective analysis of their needs, or for a deeper strategic partnership with an extra pair of capable contracted hands.

Restart-Ed is now focused on providing organisational consultancy, coaching and group facilitation to schools, trusts and other organisations in the schools sector. Its aim is to help schools, colleges and other education-focused organisations improve by enabling a better understanding of the relational, behavioural & emotional dynamics at play in classrooms, staff-rooms and boardrooms (we might call this your school’s culture).

If your strategy is stuck, if change won’t go to plan, if people react badly to decisions, if your new hires are all too quickly mired in the very problems you wanted them to solve, if your school’s culture just keeps blind-siding you … let’s talk!

About Ben

Ben has a broad range of experience in consultancy, coaching and strategy development in the school sector. He is a specialist in organisational and group dynamics, and explores how people relate to and interact with the systems they work in, especially when working within a context of change. He has also held a number of key strategic roles in businesses (including start-ups), public and charity sector organisations. He was okay - but not great - at cricket and everything else at school, but loved it …

“Ben is a joy to work with as a researcher. During his Big Change-funded work on Pandemic as Portal, he combined his deep expertise in the 'listening post' methodology with his natural warmth and empathy to produce practical, human insights that captured the experiences of a diverse group during a particularly tumultuous period in our education and learning system. Would absolutely work with Ben again in the future.”
